Operation Future works hard in our goal of "Greater Achievement for Every Child". Unfortunately, good intentions and hard work can only go so far, funding is necessary to bring many of our goals to fruition. The "Silent Auction" of 2010 turned out to be a tremendously successful means to raise funds as well as awareness within the community. It also allows the community to participate, bringing many people together for an enjoyable evening so they can share in the aspirations of Operation Future.
Proceeds raised during the Silent Auction of 2010 contributed to the purchase of a powerpoint projector and screen for presentations to students and community, assisted in defraying cost associated to the publication of informational brochures, made the launch of The Discovery Club a reality and assisted with the hosting of a two day conference and workshop entitled "Youth, Crime and Violence a Case for Community Intervention" featuring Professor Melanie Nimmo, Professor at the School of Criminal Justice, University of Winnipeg, Canada as speaker a chief facilitator.
2010 was a busy year for Operation Future we exceeded our own expectations with the assistance of public contributions in fund raisers such as the Silent Auction. We set the bar high for 2011 and it is our objective to clear the bar with an expansion of our Discovery Club, school and community presentations, additional resource material for parents and children and investigate a means to address other social needs inorder to assist parents and the community in developing a generation of community oriented, responsible youth who will resist the attraction of the gang culture and ensure peace and prosperity is returned to our nation.
